I own a CD by T. Anderson called “Still Life” which has some great intimate worship songs. All the lyrics really touch me and I made several pages including her lyrics (they have all been blurred to protect her copyright). This page is about her song “Mary of Bethany”. It so expresses my heart about how I want to be like Mary of Bethany and sit as the Lord’s feet and listen. It is to remind me to put God first. I can get so easily distracted with “things” that often times I go through the day and miss what God wants to teach me. I want to hear Him speak to my heart. In the handwritten note block I printed the scriptures about Mary and Martha in Luke 10:38-42 “As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!" "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." |
